Animals know when it's winter since they sense the sun going down. during winter there's less day light and the animals see that the sun is getting lower. they see where the sun came up and went down. plants know when the sun is going down by feeling it. plants make food everyday and they use photosynthesis which needs the sun. when they can't make enough food they know the sun is going down since you need the sun to make food.
when the planets are all facing a certain way it causes winter. you can tell when winter is about to approach because you will notice a change. leaves and other plants will start to die off and fall, and animals will start to go into hibernation. you can also tell because of the clouds, when the clouds are all rigged up and it looks like someone just made slashes through a white sky, that usually means that a cold front is coming in
Some animals hibernate, estivate or brumate during the winter.
Some migrate to different regions of the world following their food source/to avoid harsh weather.

what animals present in winter in alberta?
Most animals hibernate in the winter but birds head south.
The way a season affects an animal all depends on the species and/or environment. For example: animals usually found in the woods or forests (bears, foxes, rabbit, etc.) hibernate during the winter because of the lack of food during winter. I don't know all the affects, but that was an example of how winter affects woodland animals.
Animals hibernate in the winter.
Most times, the average temperature in a deciduous forest is around 50*. This allows for a change of seasons. The animals in this forest adapt and depend on a change of seasons. If winter lasted an entire year, all of the plants and trees would lose their leaves for that year. This would cause the animals to lose shelter and cover they seek from these plants. Animals would also lose any food they depend on from those plants. SO, the animals in that deciduous forest would probably die if winter lasted an entire year.
The animals that didnt move their fur got thicker so they would be warm. The animals that moved didnt really change
Bears do not change their fur for the winter.
