Yes. Give him some sheets of unscented, non lotioned tissue and he will shred it up for bedding. Not all gerbils are the same, though, so make sure he doesn't eat it. My gerbils shred toilet paper for bedding.

∙ 14y agoIt depends on what kind of paper it is. They can chew on toilet paper or paper towel tubes and they can chew on white paper. It is best if they chew on paper that is not dyed, because the dye can be harmful to them.
