If your air suspension is not working at all you may have a costly situation on your hands. Just the compressor alone can be hundreds of dollars. You may want to check to see if you have any leaks in the air bags. Often they get dry rot and crack. If you would like to get rid of all of the air problems that may be lying ahead of you, save yourself the time and trouble and get a non air conversion kit from Strutmasters. I had a 2002 Expedition and replaced the compressor twice before I realized that the air lines and the bags had cracks all through them and my compressor was burning out trying to keep them working. So in light of my situation my friend suggested Strutmasters. I got my kit for a fraction of what it was going to cost me to fix the car. The ride is good and the price was better!
If you fix the problem with your air suspension
the air suspension stopped working on my 1994 lincoln
A malfunction with the air suspension system has been detected
take it to a garage. either your air compensation valve is not working properly or you have a air ride level sensor that is broken or out of adjustment.
If it has air bag suspension, air bags could be shot or the air compressor for the air bag suspension not working.
They usually have a nice ride, better check your tires etc.
how do i find the compressure for my rear suspension? or any possible issues for rear air suspension wire issues.
Either the air suspension relay that is behind the passenger side wheel well or the compressor.
I have a 1998 ford grand Marquis- and the problem is the air suspension light stays on- how to fix this problem
its the air suspension, check the compressor, make sure it is running (no fuse blown). Check your suspension limit switch, make sure its getting power. If all fail,, then your air bags may be leaking and need to be replaced........................................
You should check the air suspension switch, located on the passenger's side of the trunk. If the switch is off, the light will come on, also check the air suspension fuse. If both of these are OK, then the pump could possibly be going out.
Town cars have an air suspension system. There are air bags on the rear axle instead of springs. There are a lot of things that can go wrong: Leaks in the bags or lines. Pump not working. Fuses blown. Google "check air suspension". You can also buy a conversion kit that replaces it all with springs designed just for that. I paid $115 on eBay and am glad to be done with the air suspension.
