Well, it depends on the person. Of course goths don't have anything against themselves.
Usually people dislike goths because they're different and when it comes to the human mind, its common for us to relate different with bad. I personally love goths and see them as very interesting people.
Many people have nothing against Goths at all, whether they are Goth or not. Some who dislike it may just feel it's too dark for their taste, but that doesn't mean they hate the individual.
It's a form of xenophobia, the fear or hatred of strangers or foreigners. People tend to be wary and afraid of things they are not familiar with or are different from them.
As for "Goths," some people who consider themselves normal, look at their dress, piercings and overall appearance, dislike those things and transfer that dislike to "Goths" as persons in general. It is essentially a type of racism; not as malicious as some other forms, but still racism in the sense that one type of person dislikes another type as a whole just because their appearance is different.
