∙ 14y agoContrary to popular belief, not all cops are fat. Many do not sit in their cars drinking coffee and eating donuts. In the radio room they answer calls and dispatch officers to the scene. When they arrive the cops quickly asses the situation and stop the problem. If it is severe, then the S.W.A.T team may be called in to end the situation with more force.

∙ 15y agoI'm going to assume you mean "on the job." Generally speaking, a police officer answers calls that are sent to him/her, investigates crime, and enforces traffic laws or any other law that he/she sees being broken.
