Being an extinct animal, it no longer sounds like anything at all.

More properly known as the Thylacine, this creature was only ever heard to make light "yipping" noises, and then fairly rarely.

First of all, the animal to which the questioner is referring to is actually called a Tasmanian Devil, it's ferocious and aggressive personality having earned it its name. Devil cubs are furless and naked at birth, with a pinkish color skin. Other than that, they are exactly like their parents in shape and build.

Actually, Tasmanian wolf is a name erroneously given to the Tasmanian Tiger, the proper name for which was the Thylacine. The Thylacine (now believed to be extinct) was also a marsupial, and its young (joeys) were born undeveloped, hairless, pink and blind.

The last Tasmanian wolf, also known as the Tasmanian Tiger but properly known as the Thylacine, died in 1936. No descriptions exist regarding what they smelled like. Tasmanian tigers are often confused with Tasmanian devils, which are known to emit a foul odour in defence.

The Tasmanian wolf, or Thylacine, also called a Tasmanian tiger, was about 100cm-110cm in length, with its strong, stiff tail half the length of its body again. It stood about 60cm tall at shoulder height.

Its fur was grey-brown (not orange, as sometimes depicted), and it had up to 16 black or brown stripes on its back, predominantly at the tail end.

Although it moved on four legs, it had strong hind legs shaped a little like those of a kangaroo. A carnivorous marsupial, it was able to open its jaws as wide as a snake can, which is a feat not matched by any other mammal.

The correct name for the Tasmanian wolf was Thylacine. It was also known as the Tasmanian tiger. It did not behave like either of these animals, because it was not related to either wolves or tigers. It was neither aggressive nor bold.

The Thylacine was a very shy and reclusive marsupial, and a nocturnal hunter. Often, when it was captured, it died of shock. It is not known whether it hunted alone or in packs, but it is known that is marsupial was relentless when pursuing prey, hunting the prey literally to the point of exhaustion.

The Tasmanian wolf, or Thylacine, (also called a Tasmanian tiger) is now extinct. Little is known about this marsupial, as the kast known secimen died in 1936, but some information is available.

It had grey-brown fur (not orange, as sometimes depicted), and it had up to 16 black or brown stripes on its back, predominantly at the tail end. Although it moved on four legs, it had strong hind legs shaped a little like those of a kangaroo. A carnivorous marsupial, it was able to open its jaws as wide as a snake can, which is a feat not matched by any other mammal. It was about 100cm-110cm in length, with its tail half the length of its body again.

Both the male and the female had a pouch. The female's pouch was to protect the young joeys as they developed, and the male's was to protect his reproductive organs as he raced through the thick undergrowth.
