scientists are studying shark skin to come up with a material to put on the bottom of boats so they don't get barnacles. Sharks never have barnacles on their skin. this is not because they swim fast but because there are tiny rides in their skin. Shark teeth as I've heard so far are used for nothing but necklaces and novelties. It doesn't hurt the shark though. Sharks have many rows of teeth, they lose them all the time. eventually after the teeth are lost they end up on shore where people can find them.
I hope this helped! :)
Their teeth
yes because people are killing them for their teeth and skin
Sharks don't have scales. They have skin. Actually they have a kind of teeth on their skin called denticles.

A shark is a fish. It doesn't have scales, it has rough skin with tiny teeth on the skin called dermal denticles. It lived 400 million years ago, before the dinosaurs. Google the word shark for more info. From the shark expert girl, Sharkrazy.

Shark skin looks and feels like it is covered with tiny teeth. In fact, their small, rough placoid scales (also called denticles), have the same structure as sharks' teeth! Shark skin is sometimes used as sandpaper.www.vanaqua.org/education/aquafacts/sharks.html
There is no typical name for "shark Skin" however there is small denticles on some shark species that are tooth like that protect the sharks actual skin. its like the sharks "armor" if you will.
If I understand the question...I believe the skin that covers a shark is typically referred to as "shark skin".
