Well try putting hot water on it or you can always mix it in with wet dog food. Or you could even try a different flavor or type of dog food. Good luck!!
Try feeding your dog only Dog Food, do not give the dog any other type of food,especially food that is meant for people,dogs will often shun their own dog food in favor of getting people food..Switch between dry and canned or a mix of the two..It may take a day or even two days but eventually hunger and instinct will cause the dog to eat its own food...Once that happens continue to feed the animal only dog food and give them treats specifically for dogs.People food is not recommended for dogs because of the additives and preservatives it contains..
This is what I do to make my dog eat her dog food..
-I put ground beef into her bowl, and then I pour hot water over it (just a bit) and then I put the dry dog food in, after the water has absorbed the flavors of the meat.

∙ 11y agoYou can put treats in the dog food and then your dog will smell the treats and eat the dog food and if that doesn't work try adding wet food. Once you dog sees that The food in yummy then he will start to eat it more.

∙ 11y agoif your dog is not eating his food, so you offer him treats, you are rewarding him for not eating, and that is bad, they cannot live off of treats, he would get malnutrition and die, just dont give him a treat, and leave his bowl of food down, when he gets an appitite he'll eat it.

3 factors. It smells good, and they see their owners eating it. They don't actually like it more then their own food. Remember, dog's are still pack animals, and they arrive from an animal that ate the same food. When your dog see's you eating say a hamburger, and they never see you even pretend to eat kibbel, they assume that the hamburger is the ''packs'' food, and therefor theirs as well, not the kibbel.Also, Beneful is a dog food brand of junk food. I feed it to my puppy. But we also have Blue Buffalo. Blue Buffalo is not a junk food of dog food. But like Beneful,Beneful is a junk food of dog food. In Beneful, there's lots of sugar and also fat added to the dog food. Just like Bil-jac and many other brands of dog foods (except for Blue Buffalo). Dog treats are ok for your dog though, there suppost to have sugar. Dog treats are like doggie desserts. Still, I recommend Blue Buffalo's dog treats. Burgers (depending on the certian burger) has fat and sugar added to it. Dogs aren't supposed to be eating human food or junk food dog food. Even human junk food. Lists of junk dog & puppy food: Science Diet, Purina Pro Plan, Pedigree, Bil-jac, Beneful, Royal Canin, Purina Dog Chow, Purina Puppy Chow, Nutro Natural Choice, Purina Active Senior 7+, Iams, etc. Lists of healthy dog & puppy food: Blue Buffalo. Lists of doggie human food hazards (told by our vet): Chocolate, Onions, Garlic and I forgot what else >_<
