Dogs will sometimes "snort" or "hawk" a whooping sound like they are sucking in and out. Their heads will go down while they are doing this. This is normal in many dogs (just like us they get irritations once in awhile) and they love it if you message the lower part of the nose on the top and on the sides (the puffy part of their muzzle by their nostrils.) If it continues please take the dog to your vets to be sure it doesn't have pollups in the nose.
Good Luck Happy New Year Marcy
You really should take him to the vet. it could be anything from distemper to heart failure to Allergies to simple kennel cough. If it is diagnosed as a mild virus infection (ie: kennel cough) you can treat the symptoms with Robitusm DM. Go to the vet, check this site for allergies, some are from food some are seasonal http://vetmed.Illinois.edu/petcolumn...article&id=595
Nothing - human medications can be very dangerous for dogs. If your dog is having trouble breathing, you should take him to the vet immediately. However, if your dog is otherwise bright and alert with just a stuffy nose, you can probably just keep an eye on him for a few days and see if he clears it on his own.
Some dogs can just have a runny nose at times. They can have "rhinitis" -inflamation
of the nose. Some will have sinus problems, upper respiratory infection, foreign bodies, nasal irritation, nasal mites, nasal tumors and other things but those problems are usually associated with other signs such as sneezing or bloody nose.
Your dog may just have a runny nose, allergies, most likely a cold. I'd take my dog to the vet just in case, though. He or she might have some good advice.

Take it to the vet, or bandage it and then take it to the vet!
A trip to the vets to check that it is a cold and not something else
Dogs don't get colds like humans do. Possible something is up it's nose from digging. The best thing to do is take it to your vet and he will tell you exactly what's the matter.
You put your nose up to the dogs nose.
Dogs can pick up smells better than humans -yes.
I can only imagine that it is "oh no" said when your nose is stopped up.
stand over a pot of Bowling water, the steam will help.
yes,if your nose is stopped up , its hard to breath so your voice sounds drained out or your losing your voice type of sound. if your nose is not stopped up your voice sounds nice and clear like it should , and if your nose is effecting your voice blow your nose see a doctor about nasonex or omnaris (nose spray) these two are the best ones to use and also take claratin-d it will help clear your nasal passages.
Well dogs look up because they're caught a smell in the air and they getting the nose where the smell is strongest
No two nose prints are alike a dogs nose print is like our finger print.
you are allergic to their fur and one of the reasons for this is that the fur gets up your nose
with a lot of dogs if you corner them then the will try to get attention and give up. and if you are being attacked by one then poke their nose hard.
