There are all sorts of chemicals available to do this. However if possible you can get around having to use any chemicals at all by making sure that all contact between the ground and or any other water supply this includes leaky pipes or other reliable sources of water within the frame of the house.
However, it is usually recommended to have a professional check things out just to make sure. Terminix offers a free initial home inspection & evaluation (877) 397-5201.

shows a chart of effective heat levels to kill termites. Thirty three minutes at 120 degrees, or 6 minutes at 130 degrees, will kill drywood termites, the kind that have infested my books!
I was going to black bag them and bake them in the sun, but it's been cloudy.. and I'm not certain the temp would get high enough for long enough.
Since paper supposedly doesn't ignite until 451 degrees (as in "Fahrenheit 451"), I'm cooking my books (paperbacks and hardbacks) in batches of a dozen or so at a time in the oven at about 200. I don't know how long it will take the heat to penetrate the deepest parts, so am giving each batch at least 45 min's. I have them on cooking sheets on 2 shelves, with room for air to circulate. I can't confirm whether this is actually working, but the books seem to be surviving ok, tho maybe warping a little.
The best thing to do would be to get rid of them, unless you don't mind them eating your wood and possibly making your house collapse.
Call Terminix and ask them about their free initial home inspection and evaluation.
