When you shop in France for your food, usually, you shop each day for the freshest ingredients to cook or serve for the meal that evening. You can buy most any kind of poultry, fish, meat, vegetable or fruit in season.
When eating out, you will find menu items prepared with fresh ingredients. There is less fast food in France than in America, for example, but if that's what you prefer, you will be able to find it.
