* Many brides to be have a 'wedding registry' at their favorite stores so check this out with one of her family members. If not, then you can give lingerie; china (in the pattern she likes); things for the kitchen; bath towels; vases; cutlery (for every day use); wine glasses; wine rack, etc.

A tote full of household cleaning supplies, they can add up fast. Glass cleaner, floor cleaner, multipurpose cleaner, laundry detergent, duster, dish soap, etc.

answer: I once gave holiday themed linens. The bride and groom were engaged for more than a year. After every holiday, I went to my local department stores and bought tableclothes or placemats to go with that holiday. For some I also bought table runners. I bought some papergoods for things like the Superbowl, and March Madness Basketball paper plates and napkins. I bought a birthday tablecloth and found candles that spelled out the names of the bride and groom i a party goods store. I organized it all by holiday in two large rubber totes. I got most things at a significant discount, and they think of me every holiday! (I brought a plain white tablecloth and Sharpie markers to both the rehearsal and the reception, and had everyone write something on them to the bride and groom. I gave it to them for their first anniversary.)

The best bridal shower gift, if the couple is not registered with a specific store, would be a gift card to a specialty store that carries items both the bride and groom would find useful. Another excellent bridal shower gift is a gift certificate for a favorite restaurant or spa.
