F2 Visa is a Dependent Spouse visa. You can take your children along with the spouse....For F2 visa you need the following things I have mentioned above:
1.I-20 of your husband/wife who is studying in the US along with a copy of your I-20.
2.Bank statement showing sufficient funds in your account.
3.Marriage Certificate
4.SEVIS payment receipt
5.Marriage Album with a wedding invitation card if couple newly married

Basically, the counselor will ask you questions indirectly. Always remember that the student on F1 visa cannot work. And the spouse accompanying on F2 visa cannot work either.Only the children accompanying the spouse will be able to study up to 12th grade.
