If that data-mining crosses the line into taking content or other intellectual property and claiming it as ones' own, I say this is wrong and unethical. Further and as the latest round of intellectual, web based property arrests go (mega-upload and others) this never ends up well for any involved.

Another practice of data mining is 'email scraping' which is actually against SPAM Laws.
