Framing comes from photography, implying that when picking the subject of a shot, one positions the subject within the frame. Composition as well implies that the subject in the frame is surrounded by other material in the frame that either compliment or oppose the subject, depending on the purpose of the photograph. These are basic vocabulary words used by people who tell stories on film. In video production, you may have some ability to adjust the frame and/or distort or modify composition once you have the raw footage.
