Bt stands for bacillus thuringiensis, a common soil bacterium toxic to lepidopteran insects. When "Bt" is placed before a plant name, such as in "Bt Brinjal" (the brinjal is known in the US as eggplant), it means the plant has been genetically modified to produce a protein toxic to certain insects in the same way the bacteria does.
The protein has not been shown to be harmful to humans but is controversial in other contexts.
Bacillus thuringiensis
"Raw" cotton means cotton that is unginned.
i have a dream speech.
Indigo, cotton, rice and tobacco but cotton was the King.
the cotton grin is a mechanical device that removes the seeds from cotton
Seperated the seeds from the cotton.

It's about as poisonous as non-Bt brinjal, UNLESS you are a member of the Lepidoptera insect family. In that case, it means certain death.
Bacillus thuringiensis
One of the advantages of the BT Cotton is that it does not have the actual bacterium Bacillus thuriengensis in it which is harmless to humans. The other advantage is that the BT Cotton successfully repels the boll weevil larvae.
I have seen units/bt where bt stands for bottle
Bhagirath Choudhary has written: 'The development and regulation of Bt brinjal in India (Eggplant/Aubergine)'
Bt cotton is very similar to any normal cotton plant grown all these years except for the insect-resistance trait conferred by Bt genes. These genes are derived from a commonly found soil bacterium called Bacillus thuringiensis. The Bt genes are incorporated into cotton plants by a process called TRANSFORMATION. Once the Bt genes stably integrate into cotton plant they produce Bt proteins, which kills larvae feeding on plant parts. Thus Bt plants give protection from insect pests and thereby increase yields of cotton fibre.
This is a common misconception. There is no actual bacteria introduced by the Bt Brinjal. Only a gene, Cry1Ac, from the common soil bacterium, Bacillus thuringiensis, is actually introduced. This forces the plant to synthesize a protein toxic to Lepidopteran insects, so that when they feed upon the plant, they become ill and die.Although still controversial, there is anecdotal evidence of allergenic responses to Bt crops of various kinds.
BT stands for Belfast but is used for the postal code for all of Northern Ireland
BT stands for Bleeding Time CT stands for Closure Time/Clotting Time
BT-plant means plant having BT-gene like BT-cotton. These are transgenic plants developed by genetic engineering.
BT Broadband is a internet/telephone service provider. The BT in BT Broadband stands for British Telecommunications, therefore they are based out of Britain.
