CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key (in offset printing is known as black as well). This is color profile photographers use on their photographs if the intention is to print them, since most printers only work on CMYK (hence all the cartridges use the Cyan, Magenta, yellow, and black colors). CMYK is limited in color range, so it must only be used in offset printing, to display in screen, Adobe 1998 or sRGB are better profiles for screens.

CMYK stands for color model, four color. It is the process used in printing where four colors are used to create the desired printed colour. When all the colors are printed together the color black is seen on the page.
