black Brear's eat black caterpillars
If you're talking about the common "woolly bear" caterpillars (check this site to make sure that's what you're referring to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrrharctia_isabella), they eat a wide variety of plants, from grass and clover to plantain and milkweed. If you've caught one and want to keep it, do some research to find out how to care for it!
I have been caring for a black fuzzy catipillar for almost a month now, still waiting for it to metamorphasis, but I can tell you that it has eaten alot of basil and celery leaves. I put a branch from a local tree in the aquarium where I am keeping it and it even ate the dead leaves off of it, but it wouldn't even touch the lettuce I tried. I would suggest you try different types of leaves from your area until you find something it likes. They really do have a large appetite. Don't forget to provide water too. I just poured a tiny bit in a puddle on the floor of the aquarium for it to get to if it wanted.
About 3 or 4 days ago I was walking past one of my plants, it stands about 6 feet and 12 feet around, I thought time to trim, its pretty bushy. Today 3/4 of the leaves on the plant are gone! White fuzzy caterpillars are all over it. I never saw or had problems with any caterpillars let alone a white one. I don't know what it is but it is really bad on a plant. There are so many on there it looks like sap is on the bush. I live in N.E. PA
Most of the time, a fuzzy caterpillar will grow up to be a moth. It is possible that it is a Giant Leopard of Woolly Bear moth.
It is enjoying my iris plant right at this very moment. They do become beautiful butterflies later on.

Yellow caterpillars will eat any type of fruit. The size of the fruit does not matter. The caterpillar likes to eat sweet fruits.

No I'm guessing
Caterpillars feed off of tree and flower leaves. Depending on the species, a caterpillar might only eat the leaves of certain plants.
Black and Yellow fuzzy caterpillars eat things such as... Leaves, and big pieces of grass. Also, if keeping one of these, keep it out of direct sunlight, otherwise, it will shrivel and dry up... a good place for it would be in a dark garden. (:-thanks always..**keep the world in balance!**
