Umbilical cord continues to grow and thicken to carry enough nourishment from the mother to the fetus - but it also can pass along hazards like tobacco, alcohol and other drugs. The placenta is now fully formed. By the end of the fourth month, the fetus is 6 to 7 inches long and weighs about 5 ounces.

∙ 11y agoIt's still a embryo and will not be a fetus for several weeks yet. The embryo is about 0.014-0.04 inches in length. It's in about the second week of development and contains of about 150 cells. The embryo is being nourished by secretions from the uterine lining.
