When a Voodoo doll's arms and legs are tied up, that is evidence of a binding spell. The purpose of the spell is to rid yourself of the negative energies of someone who is mentally or emotionally abusing you. If done properly, it will not harm the object of the spell nor will it affect his or her daily life in any way. It will simply make the person powerless to mentally or emotionally harm you or anyone else.

See the books, Voodoo Dolls in Magick and Ritual and the Voodoo Doll Spellbook for more information on Voodoo Dolls. You can find these at Amazon.com or at Planet Voodoo (.planetvoodoo.com)

A couple of blogs that are helpful are Ask Voodoo Mama, (askvoodoomama.blogspot.com) where the Dear Abby of Voodoo answers questions about Voodoo Dolls, and the Art of Conjure n' Hoodoo where you can read all about various aspects of hoodoo and conjure spells and such (conjureart.blogspot.com).

What does it mean when you see a voodoo doll when you wake up?

Sources say to see a voodoo doll in one's dreams is to see a primitive aspect of one's self. However if you see a voodoo doll upon waking, I think it simply means you saw a voodoo doll. Not everything has an underlying meaning.

What does the word voodoo mean?

The word voodoo refers to a specific type of magic that originated in Africa, as practiced by African shamans (sometimes known as witch doctors). You lost your voodoo doll what does that mean?

It could mean that the spirits that be did not want you using the doll at that time. It could also mean you have tricky house spirits playing jokes on you.. such things happen to me frequently. After you have done a good bit of searching for the doll, if you still cannot find it, say aloud "Please, give it back!". After doing this I will usually found the missing item sitting in a rather obvious place.
