Well, baking soda is what we used to put in our hair and brush out to remove oils--instead of doing a shampoo. Apply a half cup of baking soda and one cup warm water mixture to very wet hair. Work in like a shampoo. leave on a few minutes, rinse and shampoo. You might also try a clarifying shampoo or a chelating shampoo. You can get them at a beauty supply store or a salon.

Coffee grounds and baking soda cannot permanently remove hair. This is just a myth that is told.
If you mix some baking soda and your shampoo in your hand and wash your hair, it will strip away any build up of chemicals and waxes from conditioners. This should NOT be done often as it will strip your hair of natural oils if you do this too much.
Most are familiar with the multiple purposes baking soda serves. Put in the fridge for fresh food or use it to clean surfaces. Baking soda can even be added to toothpaste for cleaner, brighter teeth. Instead of spending a fortune on expensive clarifying shampoos, a small amount of baking soda will do the trick. Simply mix 1/2 a teaspoon of baking soda with your favorite brand of shampoo and lather. Rinse out the shampoo for ultra clean hair free of residue and product build-up.
