it's a sweet smell, but it's a nasty smell. it smells like burning coffee and antifreeze.
sounds weird but that's pretty much what it smells like
the tranny fluid will smell like burnt plastic bags and you will spend a lot of money fixing it
TRANSMISSION!!!!!!!!, TRANSMISSION. First check the level of transmission fluid and if there is fluid in there ( to check fluid warm up engine and check the level with the transmission in PARK and the engine must be running) smell the fluid if it has a burnt smell and is dark then you may have fried your transmission. A transmission repair can be expensive so please get at least three repair quotes. DEAD tranny man........
There could be an internal problem with the transmission. Check the transmission fluid for a burnt smell or odd color, indicating transmission damage.
Check the fluid for a burnt smell. Run a test for computer codes showing a possible problem. It sounds like possible internal transmission damage.
Yes, it will be dark brown or almost black.
Sounds like more of a transmission problem. Check the transmission fluid level, if low add more as soon as possible, if you smell a burnt smell when you pull the dip stick, it may be too late.
It could be low on tranny fluid or could be ready to fail. It may also have a sticky valve. Take the dipstick out and smell the fluid. Does it smell like burnt rubber? If so then your tranny is shot and needs to be rebuilt/replaced. If it smells fine then go to your closest auto store and pick up some Lucas Transsmission stuff and see if that helps.
Crack has a very sweet smell, like burnt marshmellows.
You engine contains coolant, oil, transmission fluid, P/S fluid, brake fluid, gasoline, & windshield washer fluid. Smell of the fluid, and if it has no smell it is not gasoline. If it is not slick to the touch it is not oil, transmission fluid, or P/S fluid. So that leaves brake fluid, or windshield washer fluid. Brake fluid does have a slight smell, and may be slightly slick, if you pay close attention. Look at the area it is coming from and this is a clue to what is leaking. Try laying a piece of white paper under the vehicle and see what it looks like on paper. Color is a clue. You engine contains coolant, oil, transmission fluid, P/S fluid, brake fluid, gasoline, & windshield washer fluid. Smell of the fluid, and if it has no smell it is not gasoline. The best way to tell is by checking the fluid. Check the color and odor of the fluid. bright red is OK ,and should smell like unused fluid. A brown color with a burnt smell indicates wear, no good. Drop the pan and see if there are metal filings in the fluid, no good. Slippage can just be an indicator of a band adjustment, and noises that you think are coming from your transmission can actually be coming from your differentials, u - joints, transfer case ..etc. In other words, sounds can be transmitted from one point to another, like putting your ear on a train track when the train is miles away...
burnt clutch will smell something like burnt brake pads.. usually clutch disk have semi metallic pads
There is no adjustment for that type of transmission. How many miles is on the trans, and does the fluid look dark and smells like burnt rags it's toast.
