Six feet tall and powerfully built, he excelled in many athletic events, including jousting, Archery, Wrestling and all forms of mock combat. He loved to dance and did it well; he was a renowned tennis player. Henry also enjoyed intellectual pursuits, often discussing mathematics, astronomy and theology with Thomas More. He knew Latin and French, a little Italian and Spanish, and even studied Greek for a time. The king was also a great patron of musicians, arranging for music wherever he might be, and was a notably gifted musician himself.
ruthless. Henry was energetic and restless, and often co-Henry was bold, outgoing, and energetic; he could be charming, generous and kind. He was also hot-tempered, stubborn, and self-centered -- even for a king. He had inherited some of his father's paranoid tendencies, but it manifested less in caution and more in suspicion. Henry was a hypochondriac, terrified of disease (understandable, considering his Brother Arthur's demise). He could be ruthless not be bothered with the details of running a kingdom. He gladly delegated authority to Wolsey on matters both momentous and mundane.
He was described as being tall, golden red haired, ruddy, and athletic. In his older age, he gained a considerable amount of weight, becoming morbidly obese and gluttonous. If you do an image search, you can find a picture of his likeness.

Henry VIII wore the royal wardrobe that monarchs of the time wore. The court followed suit with everyone wearing clothing designed to impress. What may look like a dress to us was a statement of the power and majesty (and the wealth) of the King of England. In the court, wardrobe spoke volumes to those present. The "dress" that Henry VIII wore, and, in particular, the doublet and jacket, announced his rank. It was that simple. "We look like we do because we are the King of England!"
It depends how you look at it. Henry was a Catholic until the Pope refused to grant Henry a divorce. So Henry set up his own church, the Church of England, with Henry being in charge of it.
