Not certain, but an educated guess is that it looks like it could be a transliterated version of the Gaelic "Rubha na h-Abhainn", which means "headland of the river". Properly in (western) Gaelic, it should be "Rubha na h-Aibhne", but since it's a placename from the eastern Highlands, that would explain why the genitive form of the word isn't used.
