What does the Bible say about the signs of the times and what do they mean?

Well we don't know what this all is but have you read The Bible? If you have try and find out the answers yourself.

As far as some signs for the end times, some indicators mentioned are "signs of wars and rumors of wars", increase of violence within families, increasing intolerance of Christians. Of course, there are many more than these mentioned: some are argued to be literal while others, allegorical. However, it is true that no one truelly knows what certain signs are indicative of.

The best way to find out what the "signs of the end times" are is to read the Bible. However, read it like you would any other book. Don't try to find hidden meanings or interpretations. So if Matt 24, Christ is answering the disciples same question and says that there will be "wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes in divers places...famines, pestilence...false prophets...people will betray one another...and the gospel will be preached around the world"

What do they mean?

"Wars and rumors of war" - it also goes on to say that "kingdom will rise against kingdom and nation against nation"...how many wars, police actions and skirmishes are going on right now?

"Earthquakes in divers places" - When you hear about earthquakes in places that have never had earthquakes before (Illinois, North Texas, Spain, Haiti, etc)

"Famines" - self-explanatory and happening right now in many places

"Pestilence" - diseases like swine flu, aids, SARS, MRSA, cancer, Alzheimer's

"False Prophets" - that's up to you to decide who is teaching the Truth

"People will betray one another" - kids being taught to turn in their parents, financial advisers who rip off their clients, and so much more

"Gospel preached around the world" - radio and television have taken the gospel into places that missionaries cannot go to.

Well the comments above are partially correct however there is much more one must know in order to understand end time prophecy:

1) Christ mentions in all the end time prophecies which are defined in the gospels of Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21

"Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:"

"So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, [even] at the doors."

Fig trees are not planted by seed, you have to put out a chute (cutting from an existing fig tree) for them to grow. There are two issues here the setting out of the chute in Jerusalem and the signs occurring with the planting. The planting of the fig refers to the prophecy of Jeremiah 24, which defines the tribe of Judah (what you call jews) being planted back in the land of Israel. That occurred in Nov of 1947, and Judah is now referred to as the State of Israel. Understand that Judah had not been in the land of Israel as a land holder, since the captivity of Babylon which occurred some 430 years before Christ walked the earth. The State of Israel is therefore you stake in the sand of the start of all the remainder of biblical end time prophecy. Many people through the years have identified events as biblical prophecy without the event of Judah being returned to the land of israel, and they were of course incorrect.

2) You need two tools to assist you with the understanding of biblical prophecy. A teacher is the best tool but its difficult finding one that can be trusted at this point in time. First tool is a King James Bible, especially a Companion Bible written by E.W. Bullinger. The next tool is a Concordance with Hebrew and Greek Dictionary as written by James Strong (simply called a Strongs Concordance). Bullinger will assist you in understanding the bible and the Strongs will help you find the meanings of the english words translated from the Hebrew - Chaldee (Daniel) and Greek languages. Be very careful with E.W. Bullinger as he does make a mistake and supports a doctrine which is not written in our Fathers word, that being the rapture doctrine. E.W. lived at the time this doctrine was becoming popular and instead of repudiating it as mysticism he incorrectly translated the word air (109) in Thessalonians to mean sky and it actually means respire.

3) You must understand that there are 3 earth ages (eons of time) or you will never understand prophecy at al. 2nd Peter Chapter 3 defines all three earth ages (eons of time) and no the first earth age did not end with Noah's flood. The destruction of the 1st earth age is defined in Jeremiah 4 stating with verse 24 and in Genesis 1:2. You will find nothing survived the destruction by flood of the 1st earth age, so there was no ark and no Noah at that time. The word for waters used in Genesis 1:2 means wastewater (look it up in your Strongs). On the 6th day, the command was given to the flesh men created on the 6th day " be fruitful and multiply and REPLENISH the earth" You can't replenish something if it never existed prior.

4) Lets start with the prophecies Christ gave concerning the end of this earth age. We all know now that the State of Israel has been planted in the land of Israel, so the initial prophecy has been fulfilled. Now the others are well underway and in full swing. This is being written on 11 Sep 2011. I did not plan it that way, I just happened to hear a siren going down the road behind me and it jarred my memory of this day. I will present not only the information in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21, but I will also refer to Daniel and the book of Revelation. This is long so get our your paper and pen and get cracking as the time is hard pressed upon us boys and girls and prophecy is accelerating.

4a. What is the first Sign Christ gives us in the gospels of Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21? The question was asked by the disciples (Mark 13:4) " Tell us when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

Christ - "Taken heed lest any man deceive you (the word deceive there is Strongs 4105 its the Greek word Planao and it means to lead astray). he continues " For many shall come in my name saying I am Christ and shall deceive many" He warns that many shall come claiming to be a Christian teacher, preacher, pastor etc and they shall deceive many, Why? because they don't teach them the word of our Father, most simply preach sermons or say you don't need to know what is written as you will be gone (flown away -Rapture), thats nonsense, but it deceives many.

The other and more serious is the application of Stoic-Sofism onto biblical text, this is without doubt the worst deception and the greatest of all. Currently this deception is known as Liberation Theology, but it has now grown into many forms of Liberation Theology. It causes biblical illiteracy. Christ will go into this further with the application of the warning signs.

4b When ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars be ye not troubled, for such things must needs be , but the end shall not be yet. (Yes this refers to the many wars we have experienced especially since Nov 1947, but it refers also to the book of Daniel and the prophecy given in Daniel 8 and 11 concerning the last war between the West and Iran (Persia) and Iraq (Media). This what you are watching build this very day, Esau is causing the conflict to occur (What you call Roosh or Russia). Russia wants the US out of the Middle East so it will have control over the Middle East oil distribution and its currency will be used as the internationally accepted currency for oil purchases.

4c For nation shall rise against nation (many folks get this one wrong as you have seen written above) The word nation here is Strongs word 1484 - its the Greek word Ethnos, its where our word Ethnic comes from. So this is Ethnic fighting that Christ is talking about, Ethnicity such as race, religious belief, Material wealth ... etc. Its caused by the deception Christ spoke of in his first warning, especially deception caused by the application of Stoic-Sofism which is the base doctrine for all (Socialism, Communism, Progressivism, Objectivism and Liberation Theology)

4d and Kingdom agains Kingdom. This word kingdom means a King and his dominion, It refers to whole countries as well as kingdoms within a country.

4e And there shall be earth quakes in divers places: Luke actually brings the best meaning to understanding this verse as he calls them "Great" earthquakes. In the Greek the word is Mega. Therefore we are to watch for Mega earthquakes such as 8.0 and above. Historically Mega earthquakes occurred at the rate of 3 -5 per decade. However lately that has increased two to three fold with 2007 being the year of highest occurrence historically (4 occurred, almost a decades worth, within one year). And we experienced another Mega earth quake in Japan earlier this year a 9.0. They are going to increase as time moves foreword. There is a huge earth quake that occurs when Christ returns to this earth.

4f And there shall be famines: This is another prophecy which many people fail to get correct. The famines referred to here are those defined by our Father in Amos chapter 8 verse 11. "Behold the days come saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the lad, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but for hearing the words of the Lord". How many people today teach the bible line upon line precept upon precept? The answer = almost none. Its taught more often in the Southern states of the USA than anywhere else in the world, however even that is being subverted now by the application of Stoic-Sofists based, Liberation Theology.

4g and troubles: This is a very interesting word its Strongs word 5016 which is the Greek word Tarache = and it means Sedition (rolling mobs in the streets against the established government, Radical revolution), It would have been better translated into the English word Sedition than Troubles. Its the result of the warnings above and the application of Stoic-Sofist doctrine such as Socialism, Communism, and Progressivism. People get used to relying on the government under Stoic-Sofist doctrine and revolt when the government can no longer support them. We are seeing this occur in Greece, France, England, Even here in the USA with the government employee Unions. As the economy is failing and there are less and less hosts (wealthy) to attach to (via the application of Marx & Engels dialectic of Materialism) this condition will continue to decline. It will not improve from this point foreword no matter what the government officials tell you. It will decline to the point defined in Revelation 6:5 where the cost of the ingredients to make a loaf of bread will equal a working mans days wage (currently about $60 - $80 USd/day).

People will need to prepare themselves for this reign of poverty via extreme inflation. Its already happening in the USA with the price of commodities skyrocketing. Some commodities are up nearly 300% over what they cost just 3 years ago (Wheat traded in 2008 at $185 USd metric ton now that has increased to $264 USd per metric ton a 70% increase in price), If you add in the devaluation of the US dollar the impact is even higher.

These are the beginnings of sorrows.

After the war with Iran (Persia) and Iraq (Media), the world will split into 4 kingdoms (Daniel chapter 7 and 11 details ), One will be represented by a Lion, the other a bear and the third a Leopard (with 4 heads), the last is referred to as the dreadful terrible as it is non other than Satan himself running it. The account of it in Daniel 7 is the same as the account in Revelation 9 13, and 17. Lion (one head), Bear (one head), Leopard (4 heads) that is a total of 6heads, add in the Dreadful Terrible and you have 7 heads total. Guess what that is the same exact count as given in Revelation 13 and 17. Don't go wacko over the word beast as the 7 heads are identified in Revelation 17:9 They are 7 mountains on which the woman sits. Who is the woman? she is defined in Revelation 17:4-6 and 18, She is mans religions especially those which do not teach our fathers word and allow Satan to be worshipped out of ignorance, as if he were Christ. Satan is the first Christ to return to this earth Revelation 13:11 he looks like a lamb (Christ) but he speaks like a dragon. He stands in the temple of God claiming to be Christ 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2. He deceives all upon the earth who do not know the truth via the word of our Father (Revelation 13:14-15)

As far as the betrayal mentioned above thats not exactly what it written: In Mark 13:12

"Now brother shall betray the brother to death and the father the son, and children shall rise up against their parents and shall cause them to be put to death"

Not this sounds extremely evil to many but it goes hand in hand with Revelation 13:11-18. Who or what is this death that these people are betraying their own family members to? The answer is found in Hebrews 2:14 "Forasmuch as the as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself took part of the same; That through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil"

When Satan shows up (Revelation 13:11) in the flesh, claiming to be Christ, people will turn their loved ones over to him, asking him to have mercy on them because they think he is actually Christ.

The Bible says that the "earth will last forever"(Psalm 104:5, Ecclesiastes 1:4), but the 'system of human society and rulership as we know it' on earth WILLend, just like in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37-39). The signs of the end of this wicked world of mankind, under satan's rulership (1 John 5:19), can be found at :

**2 Timothy 3:1-5 where it describes what people will be like just before God steps in with his Kingdom government.

**Matthew 24:3-14 where it describes what conditions would be like just before the end, when God sets up his Kingdom over the earth(Daniel 2:44)(Revelation 5:10) which will be inherited by 'the meek' (Psalms 37:10+11, 29/Matthew 5:5).
