Lutheran beliefs are the same as Christian beliefs, other than belief that doing good things gets you into heaven and the sacraments the religions are the same. So in a simple answer they believe homosexuality is wrong.

As to the question whether Lutherans accept gays: As a Christian Church, Lutheran Churches of any synod accept sinners of any walk of life. The Lutheran Church, like many traditional churches, is of the belief that, even though homosexuality is against how humans were created, sometimes people are a product of their environment, and it may not be their fault. As we are all sinners, all of us should be accepted in church, as long as we do not practise what is openly against the teachings of The Bible. Different synods have different outlooks on the acceptance of homosexual activities in their members. The ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) is open and tolerant of homosexual activity, particularly some ELCA congregations in larger cities. Many gay or lesbian pastors serve in the ELCA as well.

The Missouri and Wisconsin Synods (two other Lutheran churches) have held in line with traditional christian viewpoints on homosexual acts. The Lutheran churches of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland are are fully tolorant of homosexual lifestyles and in some cases practice same-sex civil unions or partnerships, etc.

However, the Lutheran church of Australia does not ordain gay clergy (nor lesbians, as there are no female Lutheran pastors in Australia). Gays are accepted within congregations as long as they are not practising, just as we are ALL sinners and accepted, but are expected to make effort to amend our ways. There are no immediate moves to ordain gay clergy in Australia, and are unlikely to be in the near future.

Because the Evangelical Lutheran Church believes in unity, inclusion, and respect. On 21 August 2009, The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America voted 559 to 451 in favor of allowing non-celibate gays to become ordained ministers.

ELCA Lutheran policy states that LGBT individuals are welcome and encouraged to become members and participate in the life of the congregation.

Exactly what the bible says. Leviticus 20:13: "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination.

The Missouri Synod is actually a separate denomination from other Lutheran denominations, despite the use of the word "synod" in its name. The Missouri Synod is extremely conservative on doctrinal and social issues, e.g. they don't allow female clergy, believe that the Bible is literally true, oppose homosexuality, etc.

Why are nonmembers not allowed to take communion in a Lutheran church?

Excluding nonmembers from communion is not a policy of the Lutheran church as a whole. Rather, it may be the policy of a specific church or of a particular denomination. Unlike Catholicism, the Lutheran church does not have one central body. Instead, it is composed of a number of different divisions. In the US, there are three primary groups: the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) Lutheran Church-- Missouri Synod (LCMS or just Missouri Synod), and Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS or Wisconsin Synod). Each group has its own policy on communion. Missouri and Wisconsin Synods both practice closed communion; only members can take communion. The ELCA, however, practices open communion, where anyone can. Of course, individual churches may choose to follow a different procedure from that of the denomination to which they belong, so it is possible for an ELCA church to have closed communion.

How do you join the Lutheran church?

Just go to any Lutheran Church in your area. I would suggest the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod (LCMS). Talk to the pastor and he might help you get enrolled in a new members course to learn about church teachings. I'm sure they'd be happy to have you join!
