What would you like to do?
Excess calories are turned into fat, and it takes 3500 extra calories to add one pound of body weight. So if you consume 500 more calories a day than what your body burns, then you will gain one pound of body weight per week.

Does the body store excess calories from proteins like it does carbohydrates that are not used as fats?
Protein StorageThere are a lot of details to this answer but here is a nutshell version. All foods that we eat are made up of fats, carbohydrates and proteins. Carbohydrates a…re the primary fuel source. Fats supply fuel but fat is the substance our bodies use to store extra calories. Proteins are used to build and repair muscles, cells, etc. Our bodies will use what it needs from the foods we eat. If we eat too much of any of these nutrients, the body can store them as fat. If the body needs energy, it can use any of them to make energy but prefers to use carbohydrates. If we take in more protein than our bodies need, we can convert protein into energy or we can store it as fat. To do this, our bodies use extra water, which increases our chances of becoming dehydrated.
Calories give your body energy. Even when resting your body needs some energy, because some muscles like the heart are at work even when you rest.they are a very impor…tant part of your working body.
Normally your body will convert it into fat and store it for use later.
It is stored as fat below the skin and in blood vessels.
Calories provide your body with energy. This is because calories come from the foods you eat and what you drink (besides water). Foods contain various particles, like sugars…, starches, fats, ect. When these go into your body, they are transformed into molecules called glycogen, which later give your body energy to function.
good calories, like in veggies, lean meat, fruits, nuts etc give your body the energy just to function, and then the energy to be athletic. If you don't have calories your bod…y will shut down, because calories are basically energy (kj). So calories are the kilojoules, or energy in a product, divided by 4. But anyway, calories will do for the body whatever it is the food containing the calories, will do for your body. EDIT: The truth is CALORIES are only a MEASURE of energy. Calories themselves are not a physical thing. It's sort of hard to understand without going in to a biochemistry lecture. Think of it this way: Your body needs protein, fat, carbs, etc to actually function on a cellular level (which in itself is a simplification, but bear with me). The calorie is a way of expressing how MUCH of those items we need each day. It's sort of like saying "What do ounces do for your body?" Ounces don't do anything, but ounces would be one way of measuring the amount of protein, fat and carbs we need daily. Calories are just much smaller units, we use them as the standard because our bodies utilize much smaller amounts (on the cellular level) than ounces. Hope that makes sense.
If you don't exercise enough, they turn into fat. but basically, they are energy for you to use. there is a certain max that you can eat. i believe it is about 2,000 calories.…
You if eat more calories than you expend, your body will store those excess calories in the form of fat. That is weight gain.
You gain weight. Carbs, fats and protein all give the body calories. If your total consumption of calories is higher than the total amount of calories your body …burns, you gain weight. If you're doing strength building exercises, the weight gain will be in the form of muscle, otherwise it will be in the form of fat.
If they are not burning it off, then almost all of it will be stored in the body. If it is not used at a later time, then it will turn to fat and the person will gain weight.…
Excess calories in your diet can lead to being overweight, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, stroke.
Excess calories are stored in the body as fat. This is why it's bad to eat to many calories. Generally, 1500-2000 calories are all one needs to survive and not gain weight. Th…is can change depending on height, weight, and muscle mass of course.
