The front hub assembly Connects all the moving parts to the wheel. The top has a short arm with 2 holes to connect to the bottom of the strut. The steering knuckle of the hub connects to the outer tie rod end. The brake caliper is held to the rotor by the hub assembly. The lower ball joint is connected to the hub.

The wheel bearing is pressed into the hub. The old bearing if you are replacing it has to be pressed out of the hub. You can take it to a machine shop and they will change the bearin on a press for you.
