The images you see on your monitor are made of tiny dots called pixels. At most common resolution settings, a screen displays over a million pixels, and the computer has to decide what to do with every one in order to create an image. To do this, it needs a translator -- something to take binary data from the CPU and turn it into a picture you can see. Unless a computer has graphics capability built into the motherboard, that translation takes place on the graphics card.
A graphics card's job is complex, but its principles and components are easy to understand. In this article, we will look at the basic parts of a video card and what they do. We'll also examine the factors that work together to make a fast, efficient graphics card.
Think of a computer as a company with its own art department. When people in the company want a piece of artwork, they send a request to the art department. The art department decides how to create the image and then puts it on paper. The end result is that someone's idea becomes an actual, viewable picture.
A graphics card works along the same principles. The CPU, working in conjunction with software applications, sends information about the image to the graphics card. The graphics card decides how to use the pixels on the screen to create the image. It then sends that information to the monitor through a cable. Â
Creating an image out of binary data is a demanding process. To make a 3-D image, the graphics card first creates a wire frame out of straight lines. Then, it rasterizes the image (fills in the remaining pixels). It also adds lighting, texture and color. For fast-paced games, the computer has to go through this process about sixty times per second. Without a graphics card to perform the necessary calculations, the workload would be too much for the computer to handle.
The graphics card accomplishes this task using four main components:
the graphics card is an attachment inside your computer, phone or games console which displays what goes on in your screen e.g a plane flying, what your reading now or pictures anything on your computer screen comes from the graphics card.
A graphics card is a hardware component which is used to generate and output 2D/3D images on a display.
a graphic card is nothing but game RAM
The purpose of the graphics card is that you can put backgrounds , play Video Games watch movies and personalize your computer's appearance . you need graphics card to see it.
RAM from graphic cards does not contribute to overall RAM on a computer. A graphic card that has RAM will only use that RAM for the use of the graphic card itself and no other parts of the computer. This means that the RAM that is on the graphic card is only used to store images that are being sent to the graphic card itself. The RAM on the graphic card allows the card to handle much more graphic intensive scenes, and puts a lot less stress on the graphic card, because instead of the graphic card having to process every bit of information for the scene that is sent to it. ( lets say your graphic card as 1GB of RAM on it ) The graphic card can store at least 1 GB of RAM in its memory to process later, allowing the card to finish processing the information that it was processing before the new information came in. Hope this helps.
An AGP slot is a post-PCI/pre-PCIx graphic card interface bus. It was a step up from the PCI video cards, but were phased out with the PCIx standard.
A slot card is a modular expansion card, which can be inserted into a free expansion slot in a PC computer. Most popular types of slot cards are graphic cards, sound cards, TV tuner cards and video editing cards.
check system requirements on the back of the box and save up for a graphics card that meets the requirements. i think they're about a hundred quid
it won't speed up to pc, what it will do its speed up loading up high graphic such as games etc
no we do not won't a graphic card

No it requires a graphic card
You can swap a graphic card later on which you have use with the laptop.
