whorm are douch
In my 6th grade class (this year) we dissected frogs. Most of the other girls were grossed out, but not me! The frog's heart is covered by a few organs [lungs, which are small and greyish-red], but is as small as your pinky fingernail, and is red/orange/pinkish. It's liver was oval shaped, and was squishy, a grayish color. Some of the frogs that we dissected were pregnant, so they had a bunch of tiny white/clear eggs in their stomachs. Of course, it was sad, thinking that we were dissecting these poor little harmless frogs, but we all managed to get through it.
Note from LauraFrog - Frog dissection is becoming increasingly less popular because it's often easier to get rats or mice than frogs. Many frogs are also protected. In Australia it's common to dissect toads, which are pests. Many schools take the students to the computer lab for a 'dissection' and use a virtual frog dissecting program such as www.froguts.com - it's not as good as actually dissecting a frog or toad, but if you want a look it's worth a go.
