More properly it is the Royal Standard ( not the typewriter by that name) this is often custom-made for a given monarch, as was the case with Queen Mary. It of course identifies the deceased as a member of the Royal Family- King, Queen, etc and this covers the funerary vessel.
if the U.S. flag is used to cover a casket at a funeral can the flag be lowered into the grave?
Yes, My great grandfather was a three star general and died about a year ago and we went to his funeral at Arlington. When he was buried, his casket was covered with an American flag, although they took it off before he was buried.
The flag should be placed smoothly and gently around the casket; the stars should be at the bottom of the casket and the d trips are at the top,
THE UNION IS AT THE HEAD AND OVER THE LEFT SHOULDER!!
A funerial flag is 5 x 9.5.
it symbolize the states
A moon and a star symbolize the Pakistani flag.
I believe you are referring to Pyres, which are usually crematory fires, I have never heard of funeral piles. Palls could be any covering of the coffin or casket- usually some sort of flag or banner- American Legion has codified the use of Old Glory for this purpose and so do the various armed services.
The Royal Standard is the monarch's personal flag.
