The side we see is divided into 2 distinct areas. The dark areas are called Maria (latin for seas), and there is also the bright white area where most of the larger craters are located. The moon itself is covered with a thin powdery reflective material called regolith. When astronauts explored the moon, their bootprints penetrated the regolith and exposed a much darker material below. You can still see the footprints left by the astronauts when you look at photos taken by the Lunar Reconnaisance Orbiter.

When we look at the moon we see the light cast onto by The Sun. Where the shadow is cast and what parts are catching light depicts the shape you will see.
You don't see the whole side of the moon because the bright side of the moon is a "reflection" of the sun.
well you can if you look carefully but you cant see it because the sun gives the moon its light at night and if the sun is not on that side then you wont be able to see the other side like you can the other
the reason you only see one side of the moon is because the rotation of the moon and the revolution speed of the moon are the same

If you look down, you will see the surface of the moon. If you look up, you will be able to see other celestial bodies in the sky, such as Earth, stars, other planets, etc., as long as they are not currently below the horizon of the moon. However, since the moon keeps the same face toward the Earth, if you are not on the side facing Earth, you will not see the Earth at all.

The sun casts a light on one side of the moon and the other side is a dark shadow. So if there is a half moon, for example, from earth, we can see half of the lighted side and half of the dark side, which makes it look like the moon is cut in half. Since the Earth rotates, we can see a different side every night, and that's how we can see more or less of the lighted side of the moon. For a new moon, Earth can see the whole dark side and none of the lighted side. For a full moon, Earth can see the whole lighted side and none of the dark side.
The moon looks the same no matter where you are, however certain areas may see it from a different side, but it still will look the same. (Btw lay off the dope buddy)
During the course of the lunar month, you see all parts of the near side during full moon. When the moon isn't full, we can't see the shadowed part of the moon except in two circumstances; during a solar eclipse or during the crescent phase - when sunlight that hits the earth briefly illuminates the "dark" side of the moon.
