Marx criticized the capitalist economic system, because it resulted in the creation of two classes of people, the bourgeoisie and the proletariat with the bourgeoisie being able to oppress and exploit the proletariat. He also felt it had three inherent contradictions that would lead to its demise. First, the system aimed at production for personal gain rather than the betterment of society in general. Second, improvements in industry turned the labor force into a social force since the individual artisans of the past were being replaced by common laborers who would eventually be motivated to unite at some time. Third, while there is order and planning within individual factories, there is competition outside of them. This results in a failure to match production with demand.

Marx hated capitalism, primarily because it resulted in the creation of separate classes of society, the bourgeoisie, who were the owners and controllers of the means of production and the proletariat, who were the common laborers. Capitalism also permitted the bourgeoisie to oppress the proletariat to its detriment. Marx did give credit to capitalism for its ability through industrialization to become by far the greatest system for production of goods, but he still hated it for what it did to the workers of the world.

Why do people hate the writings of Karl Marx?

Firstly, most people have little or no idea about what Marx and Engels actually said and thought. People often misunderstand Marxism at a very fundamental level and believe it to be authoritarian and dogmatic and so forth. This is given extra power by the fact that mainstream academia in the form of liberal and conservative intellectuals also make these fundamental mistakes and then write books and academic articles in distinguished journals and so forth where they say the most absurd things about Marxism and other forms of radical thought.

How old is communism?

The creators of communism were not Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. They were both born in Prussia. I do not know so much about Engels but I do know much about Marx. Karl Marx first thought of Communist views in the 1840's. Now basically he bealived that the working class deserved much more then what they recieved. The word "Marxist" or "Marxism" comes from his views. Marx died in the 1880's in his 70's I bealive, and Engels died in the 1890's in his 70's. They both are known as the "Fathers of Communism", more Karl then Friedrich. There views did not die, for the super power of the USSR came after the Russian Revolution of 1917, with the leader of Vladimir Lenin. There are many different forms of Communism but most people here in North America think of Joseph Stalin when they hear of it, or they think of radical kids and adults fighting the government. I myself am 14 and i find myself to be Marxist. The only reason people hate Communism is because it is the opposite of Capitalism of which is North American. If you wish to find a very inpirational man then search up "Che Guevara" North Americans find him to be a symbol of rebelion but i find him to be a man of the people of poverty, he was a hero. I hope I helped!

What Karl Marx said about Prometheus?

Karl Marx said: "Philosophy does not make a secret of it. The confession of Prometheus: "In a word, I entirely hate all and every god," is its own confession, its own aphorism against all divine and earthly gods who do not acknowledge human self-consciousness as the highest divinity. It allows no rival. But to those sad March hares who rejoice over the seemingly worsened social position of philosophy, it replies again as did Prometheus to the god-serving Hermes: I would never change the state of my calamitous fate for your servitude; hear well, I would never change. Better it is to be the slave of this rock than to serve Father Zeus as a messenger-boy. -from Aeschylus, Prometheus V" In other words, Prometheus is a hero to Marx because he is a symbol of progressives. He symbolically defied religion and those who would hold power and wealth. He stole it from them and redistributed it among mankind.
