Jonas lived. It is not perfectly clear as to what he saw at the end of the giver, but in the third book it mentions a "a leader who came to town on a red sled" and mentions Gabe, his little brother. Also in the new book, The Son, by Lois Lowry, it is the story of the real mother of Gabe, and it talks about what happened to him after he came back with Jonas.
Everybody I know has said he dies. But I, personally, know this isn't true, because in the third book, messanger, he appears as a young adult. there is also a second book, called "gathering blue" but this does not contain jonas. There will be a movie based on the book in 2011, so that should also help explain alot.
Jonas and Gabe do not die. "The Giver" is a loose trilogy and You hear Jonas starts his own community and is referred to as "The Leader." Jonas community is fair and is not bad and corrupt like many others. Gabriel is referred to and is alive. The 2 sequels are called Gathering Blue and The Messenger. P.S: all 3 books take place after most of the world (as we know it) is destroyed. Hope I helped.
He lived as far as the book tells.
He wasn't released, but Jonas had to escape with Gabriel before the plan should've been enacted.
So maybe he was eventually released, or maybe he led the community and changed it for the better.
Either way, the book doesn't have any evidence
No, Jonas does not die in the book "The Giver." At the end of the story, he escapes from the community and finds a new place to live, leaving his fate open to interpretation.
No, Jonas doesn't die because when he saw a sled at the end of his journey, he got on
and heard The Sound of Music.
It depends on how you interpret the ending, however the sledge ride in my opinion was a near death hallucination. What do you think?
Jonas and gabriel were in te memory of snow. the first memory that the giver ever have Jonas. He has forgotten it but he was living it and remembered everything even the memory of music.
yes he its gaberiel craps on him and dies of diareaah and vomit hope that helps :D
He goes to a new community (Elsewhere) called Village and becomes the Leader. (In the book by Lois Lowry called the Messenger)
The giver treats Jonas with love and care. Once Jonas learned about love, The Giver tells Jonas that they have a great bond and that he loves him dearly.
In the book "The Giver," Jonas is assigned the number 11.
Jonas from The Giver is not in the book.
Because when the Giver shares memories which are painful to Jonas, it hurts Jonas physically.
Jonas
He could hear music.
Gabriel and Jonas die of the freezing cold and go to heaven
Jonas was assigned to become the New Receiver.
in the community
He is a Nuturer
