After Adam and Eve were expelled from the garden, with no one to "cultivate it and to take care of it,"(Genesis 2:15) it merely grew up uncontrolled, as any untended garden, with only the animals to inhabit it, until it was obliterated by the Flood, its location lost to man except for The Bible's record of its existence.-Genesis 2:8 -15.
A: Leon R. Kass (The Beginning of Wisdom: Reading Genesis) says that in the story of Adam and Eve, their banishment (or exile) was not really a punishment, but happened as a matter of necessity.
In the Book of Genesis, there were two forbidden trees in the Garden of Eden, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and the Tree of Life. Once Adam and Eve had eaten the fruit (the "apple") of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, they were they were now like gods (Genesis 3:22: "And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us..."), but had also become aware of their mortality.
The only difference between them and God (or the gods) was that they must die. By eating of the Tree of Life, they would then also be immortal. In Genesis 3:24, God drove out the man and placed at the entrance to the Garden of Eden, cherubim and a flaming sword to keep [block] the way of the Tree of Life. In the Genesis story, Adam and Eve were sent from the Garden and could not be allowed back for fear they would eat of the second tree.
Answer:
This depends on how one defines the terms. Generally banishment is of a more permanent nature and exile implies the possibility of return at some future time.
Since Eden itself no longer exists on the earth from the time of the destruction of Noah's flood, there certainly is no possibility of return to any such place, nor was there in Adam and Eve's own day. The clear meaning of the scripture was that their expulsion from Eden due to sin was a permanent thing due to the serious nature of their offence. God was never going to change His mind and allow them to return from exile - although He certainly promised a future return to a restored relationship with Himself through the promise of a redeemer who would ''bruise the serpent's head'' viz. Jesus Christ.
Additional Comments:
You may not be aware of this, but Christianity is very shortly going to be very upset...literally Information has came out that pretty much disproves the notion that Adam and Eve were the progenitors of the human race. It is known for a fact now that the race of Homo-sapiens did not come from just 2 people.
No Adam and Eve=no garden of Eden=no original sin=no first murder= no need for a Christ to absolve original sin. Lots of changes coming up my friends. It will take years for the theologians to sort this out.
God threw Adam and Eve out of the garden of Eden for sinning, and Adam had to work to fill his belly andEve had to bear children as a punishment.
Both Adam and Eve were banished from the garden of eden for god. with no chance of ever returning to Eden .
In Heaven.
It was God who banished them from Eden.
Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden. To be banished is to be exiled. The criminal that wrote this book was banished to Elba with Napolean Bonaparte.
The bible does not record anything about Adam or Eve ever entering heaven. They were however banished from the Garden of Eden.
They were banished from Eden for ever.
No. He, along with Eve, got banished from the Garden of Eden for eating the apples.
Strictly speaking, Genesis does not say that Adam and Eve were born. It says that God made Adam out of the dust of the ground. Because Adam needed company, God made Eve out of Adam's rib, while he slept.
Flaming sword, I believe.
Mecca or Medina is not please of birth of Adam and Eve. Adam was created by GOD and Eve born from left rib of Adam in heavens and come to earth. Adam was first human being on earth.
A:If the story of Adam and Eve is literally true, then we are all descendants of Adam and Eve - all members of their family bloodline. A scientist would probably be mildly amused at someone who actually believes this.
Adam and Eve never lived in the flood times. They lived when God created them
The Bible says both Adam and Eve were the first people, and also the first to sin, which happened in the garden of Eden. The Bible talks about Adam and Eve and their children from Genesis 2:4-4:25. The Bible continues to reference back to Adam and Eve throughout the whole Bible.
