Hitler came in power on the 30th January 1933. He was Chancellor, the highest rank in the German government.

While in power, he wanted to abolish and exploit the Treaty of Versailles, a treaty made by Woodrow Wilson (USA), David Lloyd George (Britain) and George Clemenceau (France). It was very harsh on Germany and it included things like reducing Germany's army to only 100 000 men, no tanks or military aircraft, no submarines and they were only allowed 6 battleships. The treaty also took all the land that Germany had conquered, like Eupen-Malmedy (from Belgium) and Alsace-Lorraine (from France). The Saar region had also been taken from Germany and given to the League of Nations. The harshest punishment from the treaty was that Germany had to pay £6.6 billion in reparations to pay for the war over a period of 42 years. With the Wall Street Crash in 1929, it was an extremely hard thing to do for Germany.

Hitler wanted to do all he could to abolish this treaty and get revenge on Britain, France and America for all these punishments that Germany had received. Hitler got the Saar region back from the League of Nations in 1935 through a plebiscite (vote) that took place, and 99% of the people said they wanted to go back to belonging to Germany.

Hitler had an Anschluss with Austria by getting Austrian Nazis to murder the Austrian leader, Dulfuss, then Hitler organized a vote with the next leader, Schuschnigg and 99.9% of the people said they wanted to go with Germany. Hitler was scared that the votes would turn out to have a negative result, so he positioned his troops outside the Austrian border as a threat and warning.

After that, Hitler went on to revenge the Jews for all the glory that he thought they had taken away from him during his life.

Wow, people have spent decades answering that in photos, documentaries, motion pictures countless books. Look up "the Holocaust" and read for a few years, it's a bit more than can be answered here. Might check out something called World War II as well.

Adolf Hitler was one of the 20th century's most powerful dictators. Hitler converted Germany into a fully militarized society and launched World War II in 1939. He made anti-Semitism a keystone of his Propaganda and policies and built the Nazi Party into a mass movement. He hoped to conquer the entire world, and for a time dominated most of Europe and much of North Africa. He instituted sterilization and euthanasia measures to enforce his idea of racial purity among German people and caused the slaughter of millions of Jews, Roma (Gypsies), Slavic peoples, and many others, all of whom he considered inferior.

Hitler left Germany and much of Europe in ruins. Over 60 million people died worldwide in the war, and tens of millions more lost their health and homes.

They became discriminated against with many rights being taken away, they had to wear stars on their arms to show they were Jews. Later they were forced into ghettos. Later still they were shot and eventually they were sent to concentration and extermination camps where millions of them were killed.

Once Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany in 1933, he began to use his power to secure absolute control over Germany by the Nazi Party. Through public speeches and private persuasion alike, he sought to convince the German people that he required further power in order to safeguard social order. He and his associates also used existing legislation and diplomatic means to bring more control into Nazi hands. Throughout, violence and intimidation were used where the Nazis considered it useful to silence opponents or to emphasize Nazi superiority.

He killed many people young and old. Particularly Jews. He wanted what he considered a perfect world which consisted of basically only blond haired blue eyed people. He wanted everyone who was different to be dead. He was an evil man. Maybe he had gone insane? He made it very hard for some people to live.

Oh not much, just ordered the genocide (mass murder) of millions of Jews via concentration camps and assassinations, in a bid to "cleanse" the world of those not worthy to portray his superior race of Aryans (blonde hair and blue eyes). So in other words he was one of the worst guys ever.
