the earth had just been formed by gravity and thus the surface was still not complete. it was basically kinda like our sister planet venus in that it was mostly lava. it took a while to cool and when it did, water was able to condense and over time oceans were built around a single land mass known as pangea. i hope that about sums up a lot of info into a tiny undetailed package.

earth wasnt around 1billion years ago. only God

^whoever wrote that obviously didnt research. the earth is 4.6 billion years old.

1 billion years ago:

- multicellular life was formed

- the supercontinent Rodiania was formed

1.3 billion years ago the first plants grew

1.6 billion years ago the first blue/green algae was grown

Actully earth was not around 8.6 billion years ago. Scientist have concluded that the earth is only about 4.6 billion as the rocks from the moon tell us. The therory now is that a giant mars sized object slammed into molten earth while it was still forming blasting the earths mantle in to space where it centored itself and formed the moon. This explains why the moons mantle is so simuler to earths.

Nothing. Our Solar System is only 4.5 billion years old. Big Bang was currently estimated that it occurred about 13.7 of billion years ago. You may conclude the answer now ;)
