i failed a drug test while in the service for both pot and ecstacy about three times. the first two times they let it go with a slap on the wrist and 45 days extra duty. though i was a very hardworking and good soldier so my platoon sergant had my back when they pulled me in to the captains office. after the third time they locked me up for 30 days at a local jail outside of the base"none military jail". then they sent me packing with an honerable discharge none the less. the army will fill your head with a lot of bull about this subject, and most of it is lies or overexagerations. its a time of war and no one, and this is totally true if your a grut, is an angel. if your job is killing people then they'll let it slide once or twice. you really have to screw up to get a dishonorable discharge and i mean REALLY SCREW UP!! youll be alright, take a buttload of niacin. they don't test everyones piss, its random unless you already failed.

∙ 9y agoAccording to Army Regulation 600-85 (The Army Substance Abuse Program), any soldier who fails a drug test will be administratively separated, or "Get The Boot." Also, the soldier's discharge papers will list the reason for separation.
