Answer We know that they stop. End. Cease to exist.

Wheither or not some part continues on is doubtful, but a lot of people believe something does ... but there's not a shred of evidence that it's so.

Answer:

The evidence for the existence of the afterlife is the shared tradition of mankind. No ancient society ever existed that did not have this belief. The afterlife is stated in religious teachings, but its provenance is wider than that.

Once our blood ceases to pump oxygen depletion begins throughout our body. Organs will shut down and fail to work. Our body's processes (digestion, gas emission, etc) will halt. As bacteria begin to break down our internal organs our body will bloat with gasses. Protein based growths such as hair or finger nails continue to grow well into post-mortem. Muscles will harden and contract without release (Rigamortis) causing our body to become rigid and unbendable. In time the body turns to dust as bacteria erode away the tissue.

Your spirit leaves your body and returns to the Spirit World from where it came. There you will be taught the gospel in its fullness, to either accept it or reject it. If you have lived a righteous life while here upon the earth, you may be instructed further and then sent to instruct those who have been worthy of further instruction. You will then, with all of the other spirits, await the time of your resurrection to come forth at your allotted time and to be sent to that "Kingdom" to which you have earned for yourself while hear upon the earth.

There are three kingdoms of note to which each has its own glory as described in scripture, that of the glory of the sun, the glory of the moon and the glory of the stars.

Each kingdom representing degrees of glory. The glory of the sun is the glory of God in His kingdom. The glory of the moon is a kingdom where only Christ will be seen. Finally the glory of the stars where only the Holy Spirit will visit.

It must also be remembered that which ever kingdom we are alloted we can only progress within that kingdom, we cannot progress to a higher kingdom.

All will have their bodies back in their perfect likeness, and not a hair on their heads will be lost.

I suppose this question would depend on your certain beliefs... different religions state different things happening.

I'm not sure but i think you have another life. You have another life either boy or girl. You will have new parents and a new fresh. But you will never remember ur life you used to have. So maybe right now you had 100 life's. But you never knew about them. I'm not sure but me and my sister think that.

Literally: Your body will decay naturally and generally turn into dust again...

It says in The Bible (summarizing) From dust you came so to dust you will return.

CONSCIOUSLY:

Non-religious: Many mixed ideas. A common one is that it's like the time before you were born; no thought, no feeling, no sense of time, an infinite number of years goes by instantaneously, etc.

Christianity: You die, and if your sins have been forgiven and you've been Saved by believing in Jesus Christ, then you go to Heaven, a place of streets apparently paved with gold, no sorrow, and ultimate worship of God. If you weren't saved because you didn't believe, you go to Hell and burn in the pits of all fires.

Not all Christians believe this however. Many believe that leading a good life is enough to go to heaven. It may not be through fault of the person that they have not found God, but in doing good and serving others a person does what God would want him/her to do.

Simply believing in Jesus Christ is not sufficient for a full remission of one's sins, one must repent, which is a multi-step process.

Every human being who has ever lived will be resurrected, i.e. regain your physical body. You will have a body and live forever, guaranteed. Its what happens after that is the interesting part.

Heaven is a place of continual learning and progression, not sitting on clouds playing harps, just being a good person and believing in Christ will get you into heaven as an angel, but that is the lowest level of glory in the kingdom of heaven, its like being a page boy. Strive for more, strive for perfection and following Gods plan.

Hell is not Fire and brimstone and eternal pain and torment, it is simply, eternal life, out of the presence of God, with all of your addictions and no way to satisfy them. What could be more of a torment then that? Being constantly flayed alive may seem like a picnic in comparison.

I believe that once you die, your entire life flashes before you - you realize your mistakes, note things you should or should not have said and most importantly all of your regrets. All your fun times you wish you could have back. Everything. All at the same time, you can see and hear everything and everyone around you. It's almost like you have 360 vision, but blinded by your past. It seems confusing but when your time comes you will understand.

I think that your brain has some blood and oxygen left in it after you die, so that causes near death experiences. After you die, nothing happens and your mind is alone in darkness. You may still be able to think, though.

Buddhism and Hinduism: Once you die, you get reincarnated into a higher or lesser body, depending on if you led a good or bad life. When you are a human, you can meditate and become enlightened. If an enlightened one dies, they go into Nirvana (bliss) and become one with Brahman or the Buddha.

I think after you die, you see a bright light, but that's not heaven or hell, it's just your brain cells not having any oxygen and after you die you will feel like you are sleeping. A day later you will wake up as if on any morning of your mortal life, but you wake up you look and feel younger and you will probably look at your corpse ( you might freak out a little ) and you will soon realise that you are dead. You get up from your funeral casket or tombstone, you will have the abillity to do what you want, whenever you want. You will see mortal bodies and spirits and ghosts. You can fly, shapeshift, and will not be governed by any mortal fabric. If there is a heaven, why is the universe so dark and mysterious? There is no hell too. Just the earth, the galaxy and the whole universe! That comrades will probably make you change your minds about the after life!

A religious answer: One of the central beliefs of Judaism, as stated in the Talmud (Mishna, Sanhedrin 11:1) and codified by Maimonides (1135-1204), is that the soul continues to exist and is treated in accordance with the person's actions while he or she was alive. This applies to all people, whatever their religion.
The Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) doesn't dwell at length on the afterlife; and nor does Judaism spend a lot of time speculating on its details. However, that is not meant to diminish from its importance. Rather, the Torah implies that we are to use the bulk of our energies in keeping God's ways in this world, with our feet firmly planted on Earth, while nonetheless not losing awareness of our beliefs.
Our ancient sages stated the importance of being aware of the next world: "This world is a mere entrance-hall before the afterlife" (Mishna, Avot ch.4).

All outstanding accounts are settled after this life. Some cases illustrate this point, since this entire world wouldn't be enough to reward a Moses or punish a Hitler. And while we're alive, knowledge of the future world serves as one of the motivations to keeping God's will.

The Tanakh does not delve into detail of the rewards of the righteous because religions could compete with more and more poetic promises. Also because belief in the afterlife was shared by all ancient societies and needed little reiteration. Besides, it would be like describing the colors of a sunrise to someone who was blind from birth.
It is, however, referred to briefly in Torah verses such as Genesis 15:15, which states that "You (Abraham) will come to your fathers in peace and will be buried in good old age." Coming to his fathers does not mean simply to be buried with them, since Abraham was not buried with his ancestors. Such verses are stated many times.
The prophets are more explicit with such references (see Isaiah 26:19 and 66:24, Daniel 12:13, Zechariah 3:7, 1 Kings 8:30, 2 Kings ch.2, Ecclesiastes 12:7). The afterlife is spoken of at length in the Talmud. More than 20 pages of Talmud (Sanhedrin 90-110, Rosh Hashanah 16-18, and other passages) are given to this subject.
