salt or fresh water? how far away is the lightning? salt water is more conductive so you will get hurt worse in the ocean than at a lake. this all depends on how close the lightning struck the water.
The electricity is quickly dispersed - water is a poor conductor of electricity - and some of the water is split into oxygen and hydrogen, though likely not much, based on the amount of time it would be exposed to the lightning bolt.
The way i understand lightning is that is searches for the highest point of ground and water is affected by gravity so to me that says lightning should never hit Fresh water unless the waters charge has been changed and is a massive conductor
May i remind you im not smart just telling it how i see it

When lightning strikes the ocean, it doesn't really do anything. The only thing it pretty much does is just either stun the fish near the lightning strike or "fry" them. The things that only get affected by the lightning strikes are the people or animals near it.
If they're real close to the point of impact they may die. Further out, they can get stunned or injured. Yet a bit further away, nothing seems to happen.
It happens all the time. I saw it happen once. Life goes on. The electricity is dissipated shortly after the strike, as it is when it hits land.
Not much.
Anything living in the immediate area of the strike can get killed or injured. Anything further away won't be affected. And that's about it.
it evaporates
Lightning is the flow of electrons attempting to equalize static charges - usually between clouds or between a cloud and ground. What happens when it strikes depends totally on the path it takes. Anything that gets in its way is likely to be damaged.
The water, as if by magic, becomes warmer.
Whether the object struck by lightning is transparent or not should not make much difference.
the lightning vaporizes the water it hits and also charges the water with electricity (don't go swimming)
Lightning strikes can affect buildings negatively and be dangerous. Sometimes a strike can hit phone or power lines which can disable them.
They get struck by lightning.
it dies
Nothing
you get freaked out
The lightning is conducted through the metal to discharge into the water. Metal-hulled boats, airplanes, and buildings are frequently hit by lightning with no harm to the occupants.
I don't know you tell me
the tower will explodes
The glass ball is for ornamental purposes only. Nothing happens to it when lightning strikes it.
It turns purple!
They are prone to lightning strikes. The high water content of willows makes them relatively good electrical conductors and so they get more than their share of lightning strikes.
In an active volcano, it is common for there to be lightning strikes. Their energy is tiny compared to the energy of the volcano. They may be caused by piezoelectric effects in the dust.
Lightning strikes strike near water because water is a good conductor of electricity. Most lightning strikes happen by the ocean because the salt makes it an even better conductor at electricity than fresh water.
