If you turn the knob away from you, it will come closer to the slide. If you turn the knob towards you, it will move away from the slide/moves up.

It gets blurry and smaller
When you move the slide to the left, you will see the image go right when looking in the eyepiece. This is because everything is backwards in the microscope image.
By doing this, it will either rise or lower the objectives to the slide to get a better look at what is n the slide.
If the particles are small enough, they will move faster as they get hotter.
