Intensity is a great thriller, #1 in my humble opionion. It is similar in a lot of ways to the great horror movie High Intensity where two girlfriends in their 20s go to visit one of their parents only to fall victims to a homicidal maniac - and that's just the first chapter of this book that is intense from beginning to end.

Dean Koontz himself said Watchers was his favorite but that was 10 years ago when he had "only" written 70 novels.

Some of his more recent works that have been very popular include From the Corner of His Eye, False Memory, Velocity and The Husband (soon to be a movie).

All his books are known for characters and situations that are believable and rely on little suspension of disbelief. He even does a good job making you believe dogs smarter than most humans can exist (Watchers) and genetic clones that are super-human (Mr. Murder) may have been created by well-funded secret government agencies.
