As far as an answer from a Christian perspective, The Bible forbids us to marry one who doesn't believe in Jesus. 2 Corinthians 6:14 "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?" Just "believing in God" is not enough. If the person does not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the person is not a Christian, and any Christian marrying such a person is disobeying the Word of God.
