If you submerge the object in a volumetrically-labeled beaker, the volume of water displaced (how much the water rises when the object is submerged), is the volume of the object.
Either a graduated cylinder or overflow can is used to measure the volume of an irregular solid by water displacement.

You measure the volume of an irregular object by water displacement.

1)Use a cylinder that is wide enough to take the solid object and fill it with water to an amount that will completely cover the object, but don't put the object in yet.

2) Measure and record the volume of the water.

3)Carefully place the object into the cylinder with the water. Measure and record the new volume in the cylinder.

4)Subtract the volume in Step 2 from the volume in Step 3, and the result is the volume of the irregular solid.

If you know the material it was made of, you know it's density, so you can measure it's mass and volume would be V=mass/density

Or in math, you use integrals. Not sure which one you meant.

How do you calculate the volume of an i regular object?

To calculate the volume of an irregular object you will need a container with meaurements and water. Place the irregular object in your container and fill with water until the entire object is covered. Record volume A. Then remove the irregular object and record volume B. The volume of your irregulare object is equal to volume A minus volume B.
