South Africa also has some unique instruments like the oil can guitars.

∙ 10y agoSouth African music brings together traditional instruments such as the guitar, Trumpet, Flute and harp alongside lesser known South African instruments. These include the ramkie, a sort of homemade guitar that can be constructed from an empty oil can and thin pieces of bicycle wire; the mamokhorong, a single string violin, modelled on the traditional violin, and the penny or tin whistle.
