WTFction is a statement about some expected or anticipate future state or event. In the scientific context, a prediction is typically provided in the context of an hypothesis. If an hypothesis is to be useful, it must indicate what will happen or occur under specific conditions. This indication must be provable and falsifiable so that it can be shown clearly whether is correct or incorrect. In the paranormal context, the ability to predict relates to future events. Sometimes this ability is termed "precognition" or "presentiment". The difference between the two terms lies in the time between the prediction and its anticipated or actual occurence. Precognition predictions usually are in the more distant future, from hours to years away, while presentiment is a very short-term impression usually seconds or at most minutes away. Precognition and presentiment have been well-documented anecdotally in laboratory research. The most dramatic recent presentiment experiments were conducted in recent years by Dr. Dean Radin and Dr. Daryl Bem. Bem's work, based on a common psychology experimental protocol, caused a great deal of consternation among scientists and sketpics; many claimed the results were irreplicable and therefore false. However, the true situation is that Bem's work has been replicated all over the world six times. In short, A prediction is a good guess.
