about 1/20 the Centenario gold coin 835 Mexican pesos = 62.5 USD as of Sept 10, 2009
No. The largest denomination is the centenario, a 50 pesos coin with 1.2057 oz of pure gold. It costs around US$2100 (Jan 2012)
It is a gold coin named Centenario, worth USD$1,244.
The gold coin you are talking about is a "Centenario" and it is worth about $1,200 dollars (or 785 Euros).
If you are talking about a "Centenario", it is worth no less than USD$1,200 because it contains a little more than one ounce of gold.
First you have to know whether it's really gold or just brass. Second, the "$" sign is used in Mexico to indicate pesos, not dollars. If it's brass, the coin has very little value because the peso was revalued in 1992-93 at the rate of 1000 to 1. That would make the coin worth 1/10 of a modern peso, or less than a US cent.
It is a coin made of gold. Some gold coins called "veinte pesos oro" (twenty gold pesos) were minted in Sudamerica during the end XIX century and the begining of XX century. In Mexico there is one minted since 1917. At that time it was current currency, but today it is only a coin used for investment and it is valued according with its weight (it is almost half an ounce). Please check the official web page of Mexico Mint at: http://www.cmm.gob.mx/centenario.HTML where you can find the "veinte pesos oro" coin and also some other coins of "cincuenta pesos oro" (fifty gold pesos) and "diez pesos oro" (ten gold pesos). The whole family of coins is called "Centenario" (Centennial), because some of them were minted as conmemorative coins of the first centennial of Mexico independece from Spain (1810-1910)
One ounce is worth approximately US$1,150 or 15,410 Mexican pesos.
The bullion value of the coin would be based on the price of gold. The collectors value could be higher.
It is called "Centenario", and it has 37.59 grams (1.3259 oz) of pure gold. The standard selling value is of US$ 2024.58 (Jan 2012).
No. You can sell your gold for Mexican pesos and then purchase dollars with those pesos.
It's based on the condition and the current gold market price. If it's in good condition with few or no scratches it may be worth appraising for additional value.
