HD television signals are always in a component format. There are three signals that between them carry brightness and color information. Almost all domestic equipment uses an HDMI interface to carry the signal in a digital format now but there is also an analog HD component standard. The analog component connector is either on three RCA connectors or three BNC connectors.

Pressure from the film and television industry has persuaded manufacturers to adopt HDMI as the only HD interface on modern equipment. As a result, HD analog component inputs to displays are virtually redundant now.

Does a Yamaha htr 5830 have HD?

I'm not sure what you mean by "HD," but I've owned this receiver for almost two years and here's what it does have - two Optical and one coax digital audio inputs - two component video inputs and one component video output these two features can be classified as HD as component video is rated just about the same as HDMI. The three digital audio inputs can be classifed as HD as well. Just remember that if you want HD quality from either a Set Top Box or a DVD player, you will need one cable for each of the video and audio. There are no HDMI inputs for this receiver. The nice thing about HDMI is that you can get both HD quality audio and video from one cable. I hope this helps

What are composite video inputs on HDTV?

Composite Video connections are unable to transmit a HD signal. They are on HDTV's for the purpose of connecting older sources, think VCR, that do not have the newer connections like HDMI or component cables.

Can sd be viewed in HD?

All HD televisions will support SD signals. The internal tuner will decode and display SD channels and all inputs to the television will also handle SD signals. In fact, all analog inputs to a television (composite, S-video, Component) will only support SD. In order to display HD, an HMDI input will be needed. There are a handful of exceptions with some older HD televisions providing an HD component input and a few that will support HD resolutions using and RGB input. HDMI is the only current standard for HD signals and will also support SD signals.

What cables do not support HD signals HDmi component dvi composite?

HDMI and DVI are both interfaces that have specific cables and both support HD video. Component and composite both refer to methods of encoding information to represent a moving image and they are not types of cable. Equipment will often have connectors for composite or component inputs and outputs but the type of connector and cable used can vary from one item to another. However, to answer the test question that has been used as this question, HDMI and DVI support digital video data including HD video. Component specifies a signal format that can be digital or analog and also supports HD video. Composite is a format for a single encoded signal that supports standard definition only.

What is the resolution on a Sony wega trinitron model kv-34hs420?

The Sony KV-34HS420 is a CRT (tube television) and was available in 2006 - 2007. It was fitted with a standard definition tuner but with an HD input, it was capable of showing HD material at 1080i. The inputs include a DVI which is compatible with HDMI video signals as well as component inputs which may be capable of receiving HD signals. The HD component input is somewhat academic now as no new equipment offers analog HD on component connectors. The DVI connector is compatible with HDMI but be aware that much of the HDMI content is copy protected and there is no guarantee that the DVI input will decode all HDMI signals.

Can you use a HDmi cable on a HD ready tv?

You look at the back of a HDTV or HD ready TV to determine what input plugs exist. You can also use the owners manual. Normally an HD ready TV is an older model that does not have an HD turner for the HD Television broadcasts and does mot has HDMI inputs and instead has the 5 RCA Plug component connection for 720P HD input or an S-Video connection input or even both. They sell 5 RCA style plug Component to HDMI connection cable for use with the PS3 and that cable can be used for any HDMI to component connection.

How do you connect an HDMI outlet to rca inputs?

You can't. HDMI is digital. RCA is analog (component or composite).

Can you use component Video cables for height definition video?

= Answer = Yes. Component cables can carry an HD signal. DVI and HDMI are the preferred ways to transfer an HD signal though because the signal is carried digitally across the cables as opposed to analoglly as with the component cables. = Answer = There are high definition analogue component interfaces around for HD televisions but they are not common. I believe that almost all new televisions will have only digital interfaces (HDMI or DVI for example). I have used some older plasma screens that only had analogue inputs, so analogue component was the only interface available. The simple answer is, if the monitor and the signal source both have analogue component interfaces, then you can use component cables. It's worth remembering that all HD sources are digital, whether on DVD or off air. There is no benefit in converting to analogue as it will need to be converted back to a digital signal for processing inside an LCD or plasma screen.

Are HDMI satellite receivers support HD?

For DISH Network receivers, the HDMI cables provide the highest quality video and audio and then component cables, which gives you HD quality if you have HD programming.
