Novio Boy is a Mexican-American play which is About a Boy named Rudy who likes a girl named Patricia and goes on a date with her. But he is nervous because she is older than him. He is in 9th grade and she is in 11th grade. Before the date he has to figure out how to get money because he asked her out to an expensive restaurant, Steaks, Steaks y Màs Steaks. This play takes place in California and Rudy has a friend named Alex. Alex is the suave, cool friend that has had lots of experience with dating and girls. They sell apples to get money, and meet an old man looking for a wife. Rudy advises him to take a girl out to a restaurant for a date. Rudy asks his mom for money. Alex gives him money and so does his uncle. Patricia does her hair at the House of Beauty, which just so happens to be the hair salon Rudy's mother works at. Rudy's mom finds out that Patricia is Rudy's date and she asks her what she thinks about him, but she is overprotective of Rudy. Patricia thinks Rudy is cute and really sweet and doesn't care that he is younger than her. Rudy's uncle Juan is a guitarist who is playing at the same place as Rudy and Patricia are eating at. Then his mom and her friend Estela who we also meet at the hair salon come to support Juan. His friend Alex also comes over to discreetly ensure that everything is going smoothly. Oh, and the old man who had bought apples from Rudy and Alex the day before the date also shows up at the restaurant.
By the way, "Novio Boy" means "sweetheart boy".

Little Girls, or rather young women. Shakespeare has no characters who are prepubescent girls. That would be a waste of the relatively scarce boy actors. However, the boy actors did play young boys, such as Prince Arthur in King John, or King Edward V in Richard III or Mamillius in A Winter's Tale.
