I believe it is a memory virus that disengages some of your memory and forces your computer to shut down do to error. The only error that came up was a driver error, however, I had not installed any new drivers. I did have lots of memory problems running programs I have more than enough memory to run. Downloader.stubby.a is a pain is the butt, that's what it is. It embeds itself into files that, for the layperson, are next to impossible to access. I simply clicked on a link on a web page and the page I was routed to just installed it. My AVG went Graneda on me. My AVG was able to remove the original file from the Temp internet Files folder, but not before the sneaky devil hid out in another less accessable file. It installed Belt.exe among other things. After performing a second virus scan, Stubby had opened up a door and invited two more of it's good buddies, Istbar.cw, and a variant of istbar. And the whole memory issue? Forget about it... stubby damages ram cells, irrevocably... you can't get it back. Frys your hardware. I have permanently lost 5 megs total. Then, if you shut down your system, forget about rebooting, 'cause you won't. Your system's fried. Expect to spend the next 5 hours reformatting and reloading all your software. It's nothing but trouble. I have to do a little more research, but I have a very good feeling that it does somthing relative to the embedded controller. I'm going to try updating mine and see if that takes care of the whole ram zapping issue cuz that's the only thing I can think of that would allow the ram to still register as decreased after reformatting and reinstalling everything from scratch. Well...all I can tell you is..this thing is annoying because all the time when u leave ya computer on for a long time and when u come back to use it again the first thing to see is " Trojan Horse Downloader.Stubby.A...I dont know if its virus or spyware..who know! Downloader.Stubby.A does NOT damage hardware. It may cause havoc on your system. My AVG caught it during a scan. Said it was a trojan. AVG Removed it 100%. (Used other antivirus scanners just to be sure it was gone. Thay all report a clean bill of health now.) The bestway to remove it cost free is at: free.grisoft.com
